LVSAPS is the combination of the LVCPS II and the lightweight Small Arms Ballistic Door Protection (BDP) and windshield. The total system weight is 1,200 pounds. The installation time is under 8 hours. Unlike the up-armored HMMWV system, which weighs over one ton, LVSAPS can be installed and maintained in the field. The system provides easy access to the oil pan and the undercarriage. Each LVSAPS is available with operable windows and is designed and tested with OEM seat belts. This system has been battlefield tested in Somalia , Haiti , Bosnia , Kosovo , Afghanistan and Iraq .
