BPB was developed for use in Bosnia and subsequently in Kosovo as a TARDEC program. BPB was originally developed for HMMWV, HEMMT/PLS, M900 series 5 ton and 2 ½ ton trucks. This lightweight system defeats fragmentation from grenades and mine explosions. It is environmentally protected and is easy to install within 15 minutes. BPB offers no vehicle interference and no training is required by operators. This system has been battlefield tested in Somalia , Haiti , Bosnia , Kosovo , Afghanistan and Iraq .
